Kata Hinterlechner was born in 1979 in Innsbruck and now lives and works in Vienna and Innsbruck. Hinterlechner`s work is a complex mixture of collage, painting, photography, sculpture and installation – which she freely combines with one another. Very often she start her work from an anthropological concept of a image (a given or artistically designed image) or an everyday object. Characteristic for her art is the outstanding composition. Hinterlechner has participated in various group exhibitions and performative art actions since 2009, most recently at the POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair 2023 and with the artist collective: EXPERIMENTAL SETUP the radical performance with the Wilten Boys‘ Choir in the old foundry at St.Bartlmä 3 in Innsbruck.
